6A- Identifying Opportunities economic and regulatory

1. Economic- Global Competition
a) I found it on new American economy https://www.newamericaneconomy.org/issues/. I was thinking how America is so competitive in everything that it sometimes causes problems for the country.
b) By having immigration a huge topic America is supposed to be open to all countries legally. It seems as if Canada hand out 60% more green cards to their immigrant than our own country.
c) This problem occurs for all incoming immigrants to America and the ones that currently live here and have to go through the tedious paperwork do they can remain here legally.
d) This is a mixed topic to talk about because if other countries are willing to give out green cards to immigrants than I do not see why it would be an issue for America to do as well. We are called the melting pot for a reason but it seems as if letting others in is on hold.
- I find this opportunity as a huge one because we as a country are supposed allow people to come to our country for the better and having them not get a green card as fast of easy as other countries worries me because as America we are a mixture of all different cultures.

2. Economic - International Students
a) I found it on new American economy https://www.newamericaneconomy.org/issues/. This opened my eyes on all the international students that come to America for education and then in return make our economy growth with their knowledge.
b) This might be an opportunity because as the international students get the great high paying jobs the native Americans are having to work a little harder for them to stand out.
c) The customer for this opportunity is international and national young people.
d) It is relatively hard to exploit because the international students are here on a visa and when they land a big firm they become a citizen.
-I see this opportunity because as a native in America I work so much harder and not having that edge that many international students makes it difficult at times to land a job or internship.

3. Regulatory -Health care
a) I found my source on Deloitte's website pertaining to the changes they are making to their health care program.
b) This might be an opportunity that exist because people with current health care programs might not get the same benefits anymore or have to start paying higher prices for health care.
c)  This opportunity is for anyone that works with this firm or is applying for this firm and has not done their recent updates about the company.
d) I think it is relatively hard to exploit because this firm is so big that they can do and switch anything they want and do not have to oh bide by anyone since it has their own money.
- I find this opportunity huge because some of the people that work at this firm depend on their health care for their personal well being.

4. Regulatory - Data Privacy
a) I found my source on KPMG's website and they are adding and changing a few things to their data privacy section.
b) This might be an opportunity that exists because yes they might be securing the data on their software but the people working at this firm will have no privacy if all of their screens and accounts are always being monitored.
c) This opportunity is for anyone that works at KPMG.
d) I think if everyone in the company can come together and go against their privacy rights it can go smoothly but most likely they will stay quiet because their jobs are on the line.
- This to me is a big opportunity because many big firms think they can control everyone inside of it and by looking at their every move or click on their own data.

  1. Hey Janan,
I definitely agree with you that international students makes the competition even tougher for Americans to find jobs. They bring skills and knowledge that many in the US may not have. I talked about data privacy in my blog too, as it is a regulatory trend that is very important. With the world becoming more interconnected, data privacy needs to be prioritized in order to protect people's personal information. Great job!
